North of the Okavango Delta
Split into two main camps, North and South, this luxury camp has a total of fourteen rooms, all raised on wooden platforms and connected by a raised wooden walkways. Vumbura Plains Camp offers both land and water activities in a 60 000-hectare private concession that has a spectacular variety of habitats and a great diversity of wildlife.
The main dining, lounge and pub area is raised off the ground and situated under shady, indigenous trees with wonderful views across the Okavango Delta floodplains. The main lodge at Vumbura Plains is vast and stylish with various carvings and interesting African sculptures strategically placed. There are raised and sunken areas with built in sofas scattered with lots of cushions. There are two hanging chairs and a library offering a selection of natural history books. A shady deck overlooks the surrounding landscape with a telescope for guests use. There is also a large restaurant area which is open-sided and offers views out over the plains, a well-stocked modern bar, and curio shop. Vumbura Plains Camp has 220v generator powered electricity.
Vumbura Plains consists of 2 x 14 bedded camps linked by raised boardwalks and each has its own dining, lounge and bar area. All luxury rooms are raised off the ground on wooden platforms with walkways connecting them to the main living areas. The wood, glass and thatch suites have a large, luxurious bedroom, a lounge, a 'sala' and en-suite facilities with a shower, a flush toilet and an outdoor shower. Gauze dividers separate sleeping and lounging areas, while sliding doors open onto private decks and plunge pools with wilderness views. Each room has its own outside shaded sofa and table.
