Detailed Itinerary
Day 1:
Upon arrival at Maun Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your campsite. A light lunch will be served in camp. Maun is a small town on the southern side of the Okavango Delta, utilised by many tour companies and safari operators as the starting point for various kinds of adventures.
This afternoon you have the option of taking a game-flight in a light aircraft over the Okavango delta (duration of the flight is approx. 1hour). In order to understand the geological aspect of the Delta as well as to see various species of game, this optional activity is highly recommended.
Day 2, 3, 4 and 5:
After an early breakfast, we depart Maun, heading southwards to enter the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The following four nights’ stay in the park will solve some of the mysteries surrounding life in this arid region.
The Kalahari and its adapted game and vegetation have succeeded in surviving the elements and their story is plain for those who wish to understand. Predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena occur here as well as water independent antelope, such as Oryx and Springbok.
The combination of Kalahari and Okavango on one safari will clearly illustrate the importance of water to an area. The Kalahari is one of the remotest and most unspoilt areas of Africa, with a size of 52 800 square kilometres.
Day 6:
Today we return to Maun for one night in order to prepare for the Okavango sector of our safari. A late afternoon excursion to a nearby crocodile farm can be arranged if desired.
Day 7, 8 and 9:
After an early breakfast, we depart Maun for the well-known Moremi Game Reserve, situated in the eastern part of the Okavango Delta. This game reserve is ideally situated for a wildlife sanctuary. It has no fences, which allows unobstructed seasonal movement of game, hence making this a largely natural area.
This reserve is a paradise for birds, game and predators alike. Moremi’s scenery alone is sufficient reason to want to visit this Park. The varied vegetation found here makes this area unique. We will spend 3 nights in the western side either in Xakanaxa or 3rd bridge area. Our days consist of early morning and late afternoon game drives, with a leisure period in camp during the heat of the day. We will explore this side of the Moremi Reserve in great detail, which is sure to provide many unforgettable experiences.
Day 10:
This morning we depart Moremi and return to Maun. Picnic lunch will be served en route. Upon arrival in Maun, you will be transferred to the airport to connect with your outbound flight to Johannesburg.
Frequently Asked Questions
Mobility Impairments Tours
Will there be someone to assist me with my wheelchair, etc?
Yes, our guides and other staff members are always on hand to assist you wherever possible.

Should clients require electricity for charging up batteries/ running respirators, etc, how would you provide this?
Whilst on safari in Botswana and Namibia, we have generators in camp which we could run during the day to charge up batteries for electrically-operated wheelchairs, etc.

Do I need special adapters for charging of my electric chair?
It is always best to purchase a universal adapter that you could bring along with you – naturally ensuring that it is compliant with your electric chair’s connection.

If I am doing a Botswana or Namibia section of the tour, will I need a 12volt adapter for the charging of my electric wheelchair?
It would be best to bring along 12volt adapter as this would mean you would be able to recharge your electric chair whilst sitting in the safari vehicle.

Are clients permitted to travel on their own or do they have to be accompanied by a carer?
Yes, clients are permitted to travel on their own, provided they are deemed fit enough to travel. For severely disabled clients, we recommend that they travel with a qualified carer.

Do you provide carers?
Yes. We would prefer clients to bring along their own carer, but should they not wish to do that for some reason, then we will happily provide a carer for them. Naturally it is more comfortable and less stressful for the client if they have their own personal carer with them.

Which types of tours do you have available and with which type of accommodation?
We have a broad spectrum of options available, from 5 star hotel and lodges to luxury camping safaris, with various destinations in three major countries, namely South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Whilst on safari we make use of large safari tents (4.5m x 3m). Each tent has its own specially adapted en-suite facilities (bucket shower & chemical toilet).

The en-suite facilities are an enormous safety feature in the bush environment as there is no reason to exit the tent during the night. There is ample room for wheelchair manoeuvrability as well as the bed heights are fixed for easy transfer from the wheel-chair. All bedding is provided, i.e. mattress, duvet, sheets, pillows and extra warm blankets. By having these well-ventilated, insect proof tents, we have no limitations as to our planned destinations.

We also include lodges or hotels where applicable as part of our itineraries. How many people are accommodated per tent? We basically have 2 types of tents: - Our family tent (6m x 4m) would comfortably sleep 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 small children. - Our normal tents (4.5m x 3m) comfortably sleep 2 adults.
