General description: 
Split into two main camps, North and South, Vumbura Plains Camp has a total of fourteen rooms, all raised on wooden platforms and connected by a raised wooden walkways. This luxury camp offers both land and water activities in a 60 000-hectare private concession that has a spectacular variety of habitats and a great diversity of wildlife.
Facilities: 
The main dining, lounge and pub area is raised off the ground and situated under shady, indigenous trees with wonderful views across the floodplains. The main lodge at Vumbura Plains is vast and stylish with various carvings and interesting African sculptures strategically placed.  There are raised and sunken areas with built in sofas scattered with lots of cushions. There are two hanging chairs and a library offering a selection of natural history books. A shady deck overlooks the surrounding landscape with a telescope for guests use. There is also a large restaurant area which is open-sided and offers views out over the plains, a well-stocked modern bar, and curio shop. Vumbura Plains Camp has 220v generator powered electricity.
Accommodation: 
Vumbura Plains consists of 2 x 14 bedded camps linked by raised boardwalks and each has its own dining, lounge and bar area.  All luxury rooms are raised off the ground on wooden platforms with walkways connecting them to the main living areas. The wood, glass and thatch suites have a large, luxurious bedroom, a lounge, a "sala" and en-suite facilities with a shower, a flush toilet and an outdoor shower.  Gauze dividers separate sleeping and lounging areas, while sliding doors open onto private decks and plunge pools with wilderness views.  Each room has its own outside shaded sofa and table. 
Game viewing and activities: 
Vumbura Plains offers land and water activities, game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles, nature walks, mokoro trips and boat excursions.  The Vumbura area is possibly the only area in the Okavango where one can see red lechwe (an animal that inhabits the fringes of the waterways) and sable antelope (an animal that prefers the dry countryside) on the same game drive.  Wildlife in the Vumbura area is prolific. A combination of riverine and savannah woodland boasts a diversity of wildlife such as red lechwe, waterbuck, kudu, wildebeest, tsessebe, hippos and crocodiles; the rare sable is common here as are large herds of elephant and buffalo. The reserve is also home to lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena. Bird watching combines the best of both worlds with the Okavango specials and acacia and dry woodland species, with the possibility of sighting some endangered species, such as the stately Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret, White-backed Night Heron and the wonderfully adapted Pel's Fishing-Owl.
