General description: 
Shinde is a well established Okavango Delta camp. Shinde is built on a beautiful palm island on the Shinde Lagoon. Shinde has all year round water making it a great base for mokoro and boat trips.  Surrounded by open plains, the camp provides good sighting for elephants and wild dogs.
Facilities: 
Shinde has a wonderful tree-house feel. Under a thick canopy of ebony and mangosteen trees, there is a flowing split-level area comprising of teak platforms linked by grand staircases. This unique tree house boasts the lounge and dining area. A chandelier with crystals reflects your delicious dinner in the dining room. A bar and campfire are situated in the front of the lodge. A plunge pool offers relief from the hot days spent out in the bush. At Shinde, electricity is generated to allow the operation of lighting and other basic facilities in camp. Re-charging of camera/video batteries is possible, arranged by the camp managers, provided guests bring the appropriate adaptors along to suit Botswana 220V power source. An international multi adaptor is recommended. The electricity system does not support the use of hair dryers.
Accommodation: 
Eight twin bedded classic safari tents are available at Shinde. These private tents include en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, showers and flush toilets. Mosquito netting, generated electricity and a private viewing deck are part of each tent. The tents have been thoughtfully positioned to offer breathtaking views across the Okavango's waterways and open grasslands. A unique feature of Shinde is its private-use camp called The Enclave at Shinde. Three separate tents with all amenities and activities are available for exclusive use. Guests may reserve the Enclave for private use. Included is a private boma, private bar, dining area and lounge overlooking the lagoon. A personal waiter/barman is specifically assigned to this facility. A senior guide hosts guests and will escort them on private game activities.
Game viewing and activities: 
As Shinde is located in an ideal location for water and land activities, there is a diverse range of activities. Powerboat and mokoro excursions provide a chance to experience the bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Delta. Game drives are conducted in specially designed vehicles together with a personal guide and guided walks are also available for the more adventurous. Shinde offers fishing for a variety of species such as Tilapia and tiger fish.
