General description: 
  Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge is built within a forested area of the Okavango, next to a permanent waterway, the Santantadibe River (from where the lodge gets its name) - a deep, wide channel leading to several beautiful lagoons. Sandibe is surrounded by an abundant array of wildlife throughout the year.  
Facilities: 
  Sandibe's towering main lodge is a superb structure.  It is double storey – on one side on the ground floor there is a lounge area and a well-stocked fridge.  On the other side is a covered dining area. The whole lodge is dotted with beautiful pieces of African art and traditional reed baskets, some of which were made by the lodge's staff. On the first floor guests can enjoy comfortable chairs and sofas, as well as a better view of the colony of epauletted fruit bats that have made the rafters of the lodge their home.  Near to the main lodge is the small splash pool which has been built into a raised deck. There are sunny and shaded areas on the deck and sun-loungers for relaxing. There is also a well-stocked curio shop selling a range of items including traditional baskets, jewellery and African carvings. Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge has 220v generator powered electricity.  
Accommodation: 
  All of the lodge's eight spacious, airy terracotta rooms face the river; each has en-suite facilities, and a refreshing open-air shower. The cottages are built under a canopy of trees and have a raised private deck which allows broad vistas of the surrounding area. The spacious cottage-style rooms are of stone construction, and have large gauze windows. They are decorated in neutral tones  Outside each chalet is a polished concrete veranda with chairs and a table, and a raised viewing platform for watching the wildlife. Built with a commitment to "treading lightly on the earth", Sandibe's architecture evokes the earthy, organic, living forest. No trees were sacrificed in the building of the lodge; instead, cottages were built in a natural clearing. Any saplings that needed removing were carefully transplanted into the surrounding forest.  
Game viewing and activities: 
  Activities at Sandibe include 4WD game drives (day and night), mokoro excursions and bush walks, as well as boating trips in a specially-designed 'silent' electric boat along the permanent waterways. Interpretive bush walks are in the care of a local San (Bushman) guide. This is a rare opportunity to learn traditional bush skills like making rope from the indigenous grasses, how to construct traps, light fires using friction sticks and how to track animals.  
Children Policy: 
Children are welcome at Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge. Regretfully, children 5 years and younger cannot participate in the regular game drives and mekoro activities. Children 16 years and older can participate in guided walks and mekoro activities. Childminders can be booked at an additional cost. Children aged 6 to 11 years are accommodated on game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. An extra bed can be arranged for a child sharing the parents’ suite
