General description:
While Little Kwara shares a name with the well known, sixteen bedded Kwara Camp, also operated by Kwando Safaris, Little Kwara Camp is a completely separate camp from Kwara. An intimate five tented camp, Little Kwara offers its guestsspectacular game viewing opportunities, elegant accommodation and personal service. Little Kwara is particularly suitable for families, or small groups of friends.
Facilities:
Little Kwara has a refreshing plunge pool for the hot African afternoons. The curio shop, lounge and bar are slightly raised and this allows for great views over the shallow lagoon. Adjacent to the lounge is a large dining room which is open-sided and also has views over the lagoon. Little Kwara Camp has generator power
Accommodation:
Little Kwara has only five tents set amongst the trees, making this a peaceful and intimate camp. The spacious and tastefully decorated en-suite tents with their private verandas are raised on individual wooden platforms. Each tent has its own en-suite facilities comprising of a bathroom with bath and an inside/outside shower.
Game viewing and activities:
The standard of guiding at Little Kwara is exceptional and combined with the excellent game viewing opportunities it offers a well-rounded safari experience. The game experience at Little Kwara is always interesting and varied, due to the labyrinth of waterways, islands, seasonal flood plains and bush surrounding the camp. Little Kwara Camp offers the following activities - mekoro trips year round, double deck boat cruises, island walks as well as day and night game drives. Fishing is also available - fly fishing enthusiasts need to bring their own equipment. A morning mekoro trip is a memorable experience. Silently travelling through the clear waterways and observing bird and animal wildlife from water-level is truly unique. Armed guides will take guests on a guided walk on an island before returning to camp.
Children Policy:
Children 8 - 12 years permitted provided they are on a private vehicle or on a family safari. Children younger than 8 years old are permitted, as above, but only during the green season (Nov - June).
