General description:
Camp Okavango offers guests a year-round water wilderness experience, due to its location in the Delta. The Okavango Delta is arguably the finest wilderness wetland in the world; renowned as a haven for rare species such as the elusive sitatunga antelope and the Pel's fishing owl. The luxury and style of Camp Okavango blends effortlessly into this wilderness and is the ideal base from which to discover the beauty of this wetland ecosystem.
Facilities:
Camp Okavango’s elegant thatch and lethaka main lodge building features a lounge, cocktail bar and wildlife reference library. The main building is shaded by giant Mangosteen Trees. An expansive open-air patio caters for al fresco meals and evenings around the camp fire. Other facilities include a secluded bird-viewing hide and a sun-deck with plunge pool for relaxing during the hot midday hours. Generator power (AC 220V) is available during the day and evening. Tents are equipped with a 220-volt AC plug for hairdryers and invert 12-volt DC lighting to be used at night once the generator has been switched off.
Accommodation:
For honeymooners and those who are looking for the ultimate in exclusivity, Camp Okavango boasts the "Okavango Suite", a thatched cottage offering complete privacy.   Camp Okavango accommodates 24 guests in East African-style safari tents, individually situated on raised platforms. Each tent features glass sliding doors, which open up onto a teak platform, with splendid views over the Delta.
Game viewing and activities:
All wildlife and bird-watching expeditions are conducted by experienced naturalist guides and include exploring the Okavango by mokoro, river craft and walking safaris. Guided nature walks on the Delta islands allow guests the opportunity to track some of the larger species that inhabit this water wilderness. Fishing for the fighting Tiger Fish, African Pike and Bream is excellent at most times of the year. Bird-watching opportunities are outstanding with more than 400 species of birds having been recorded in the Okavango Delta.

No children under 6 years are accepted at Camp Okavango. There are no child care / babysitting facilities or services offered at Camp Okavango. Children aged 16 years (inclusive) and younger to share with a parent at all times. Children must be under the care of their parents at all times.
